The cafe specializes in a range of hearty mains, each crafted with care to ensure a comforting dining experience. One must-try dish is the Mum's Pork Chop, a delectable fried pork cutlet drizzled with a sweet and tangy sauce, perfectly paired with rice and a runny egg—all this for just SGD 8.00. If you’re in the mood for some rich flavors, the Braised Pork Belly with Chap Chye offers tender slices of pork belly served alongside flavorful stir-fried vegetables, a steal at the same price.

At only SGD 5.00, this dish is a delightful balance of flavors, featuring fried rice noodles mixed with dried shrimp and chili, complemented by a tangy Assam gravy on the side. The sensation of the dish is elusive yet compelling, much to the delight of diners like Maryanne Pan, who cherishes the nostalgic essence it brings—reminding her of cherished family recipes from her Peranakan roots.

For the perfect sidekick, the crispy Fried Ngoh Hiang is available in different quantities, priced at SGD 14 for 9 pieces and SGD 22 for 18 pieces. These savory rolls, wrapped in golden brown beancurd skin, are perfectly paired with the homemade chili dip. Love the dry mee siam here… Reminds me of how my aunt of Peranakan descent used to make for us in huge potloads. Outshining the Mee Siam is definitely the Ngor Hiong n the accompanying homemade chilli dip. Omg it takes me back to when food was made w the proper ingredients n with time n effort. I honestly can’t think of anywhere else to get my ngor hiong n mee siam fix. The pork chop rice is mighty nice too. Curry chicken was tasty but outshone by other items on the menu. Anyone turned off by the pricing… do remember the amount of hard work in preparing authentic food.

15/10/2024 Had mee siam ($5) and 2 pieces of ngoh hiang ($2.90) for lunch, was quite good. Staffs were friendly, dining area was air-conditioned and reasonably sized. I'll be back to try other items on the menu.

Ordered dry mee siam with 2 ngor hiang and a earl grey iced tea. Mee siam tastes not bad but a bit too dry. Could have been better if garnished with hae bee hiam, some slight gravy and a bit more tangy.. Ngor hiang was ok, didn't feel there was bite to it probably because it was small and not crispy enough. Overall, I feel the portion is a bit small for the price. Otherwise, atmosphere and service was excellent.

Went here for lunch and had a really nice experience. The lady recommended the curry chicken, and glad I went with it—it was very godo. The gravy was rich and comforting, and the chicken was very tender. The place itself was cozy and a pleasant spot to eat. Definitely worth the price and the trip.
